Yet Another Blog
I already have 2 blogs and a podcast which I update sporadically, so why would I start another one. Well, in the webcast below, Andy Lester suggests writing a blog that documents the technical challenges you encounter. It serves many purposes including as a diary of lessons and accomplishments, a place where potential employers can see the type of work you do, and a place where potential collaborators can see how you work. I really need a place to do all those things so I’ve bought yet another domain name and setup another instance of WordPress.
Success
Minimally, I would consider this blog a success if I continue to update it a couple times a month till the end of my career. I know, lofty goals, but I’ve had many blogs that I wasn’t motivated enough to keep for more than a couple months.
Ideally, I would find one or two like-minded developers with similar values and priorities and we would start a company or consulting group which would sustain us for the rest of our careers.
